As a war photographed unlike any other by the common soldier, the capturing of memories, both good and bad and on film as well as the mind, defined the Vietnam experience. Consider whether or not you’d want to capture the scenes before you. Consider the emotions you’d be feeling and the emotion you were trying to preserve. Response to the war depended on the individual who experienced it, and it is impossible to capture the experience of the war simply because I wasn’t there. I hope, however, that by showing some elements that I’ve attempted to understand and represent through my own research and interactions with those who were there, I can try.
